Why wood burning stoves?

Cost Efficient

Stoves with back boilers can produce enough hot water and heating for a large family home, saving you money on your water and energy bills.

Eco-Friendly

Many customers prefer the heat produced by a wood burning stove compared to gas and centrally heated houses. Burning seasoned wood in a stove produces the same amount of carbon dioxide as leaving it to rot on the forest floor, and as wood is sustainable and cheaper than fossil fuels, they offer an eco-friendly solution to the everday runnings of a home. Stoves can be up to 85% efficient compared to an open fire of 15-20%.

The energy efficiency of a house can be improved upon, as even when the stove is not lit, you are not losing heat up the chimney as with an open fire, so a lot less air is needed to operate the stove and therefore there are less draughts in the room.

Safety

Modern stoves offer an increased safety aspect as you just load up the stove and go out, without having the worry of sparks coming out of the fire, as you would with an open fire.

Reliability

Stoves are also highly reliable as they cannot be affected by power cuts, or the possibility of the fuel supply being reduced or cut off.

Cleaning

There is no need to worry about the mess that having a "real" fire causes, as innovative and modern solutions means that stoves are cleaner today than in comparison to having open fires as less dust is produced.

Smoke-Controlled Zones

If you live in a smoke controlled zone, you still don't need to worry, Defra have given exemption to many models for burning wood in these controlled zones.
